Welcome to Yarn by the sea. Thank you for taking a look at our beautiful products. Yarn by the Sea was founded by Cheryl with the aim of encouraging others to take up crochet, knitting and all that is wool.

We are located by the Irish Sea on the beautiful Ards Peninsula, Northern Ireland. We supply high quality wool and accessories at fair prices. We provide fast UK wide shipping or offer free local pickup (just choose your preference at check-out).

We are proud to support several local charities such as BraveheartsNI and other impactful causes.

About Cheryl…

I am Cheryl. I am originally from Canada. I grew up in the province of Saskatchewan, a beautiful place with hot summers but -35 winters! I met my husband, Iain and we lived in Calgary near the Rocky Mountains before moving to Northern Ireland in 2015 with our three children - Iain, Zoey and Finlay.

I was introduced to crochet several years ago and have honestly never looked back. My passion for colour coordination and love of crochet and wool makes this the best job in the world.

Our logo has been designed by talented local artist - 12 year old Olivia Lewis. We think she's done a fantastic job!
